What is included in a service?

  • Our turntable service is £140+vat flat rate. starting with a complete strip down of the deck to just the plinth and top plate, to ensure the fit of the top plate to the plinth is just as it should be, which is critical to sound quality, and then a careful rebuild.

    1)      Health check: A report back on the general condition of your unit covering all aspects such as wear to the spindle, motor and belt etc.

    2)      Re-terminate mains plug if lose.

    3)      Check wiring is pinned and run correctly and tightened appropriately

    4)      Change bearing oil

    5)      Clean and inspect Belt

    6)      Clean and inspect motor

    7)      Clean and inspect stylus

    8)      Check cartridge alignment and tonearm balance. Corrected if needed.

    9)      Included in the service costs are new replacement springs, bushes, nuts and washers

    10)   General clean as we go, make sure your unit leaves us dust free and ready to crown the top of your HiFi again.

    11)   Finally, without exception every unit will then sound tested in one of our demonstration rooms before being repacked for transportation.

We can supply, install and fully calibrate any turntable cartridges which you may desire. We work closely with brands including Linn, Technics, NAD, Ortofon, Pro-ject, Rega, Audiotechnica and more.

 
Linn LP12 service

Linn LP12 Servicing

We have had extensive training by Linn themselves in the repair, calibration and servicing of all Linn turntables including the LP12. We can order and install and upgrades including platter upgrades, power supply upgrades, new cartridges, replacement of springs or all of the above. Give us a call and we can discuss prices and the best course of action.

Tonearm Rewiring

Due to the fiddly-ness, a lot of people don’t rewire tonearms anymore. Luckily enough, we have the patience and training required to be able to do it. We can use any cable you desire of any desired length.

Some tonearms are made in such a way in which they require more specialist equipment to get into. If you could get your tonearm over to us, we will have a look and let you know the procedure, cost etc
